1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Busy Importer — Amazon to Shopify Importer ("the Extension"), developed and published by Jai Sungwani, handles your information.

By installing and using this Chrome extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This extension is designed with your privacy in mind — we collect the absolute minimum data necessary to provide the import service.

2. What the Extension Does

Busy Importer has a single, clear purpose:

• It reads product information (title, description, images, price) from Amazon product pages that you are actively browsing.
• It sends that product data directly to your own Shopify store using the Shopify Admin API credentials you provide.
• It supports single product import and bulk import from Amazon search and category pages.

3. What Data We Collect

The extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage:

• Shopify Store URL — the URL of your Shopify store (e.g. yourstore.myshopify.com), saved so you do not have to re-enter it each session.
• Shopify Admin API Token — your private API access token, stored locally in Chrome storage to authenticate import requests to your Shopify store.
• Amazon Product Page Content — the extension reads the product data (title, price, images, description) from the Amazon page you are currently viewing in order to perform the import. This data is not stored — it is processed in memory and sent directly to your Shopify store.

4. What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
• Your browsing history or web activity outside of Amazon product pages
• Any financial or payment information
• Your location, IP address, or device identifiers
• Any analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
• Cookies or tracking data of any kind

5. Why We Need Each Permission

• activeTab — To read the Amazon product page you are currently viewing and extract product data for import.
• scripting — To inject the product scraper script into Amazon pages so product information can be read and sent to your Shopify store.
• storage — To save your Shopify store URL and API token locally on your device between sessions.
• sidePanel — To display the Busy Importer interface as a Chrome side panel alongside the Amazon page.
• tabs — To detect the active Amazon tab and coordinate communication between the side panel and the page.
• Host permissions (Amazon domains) — To allow the extension to read content from supported Amazon websites (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.in, and 9 other Amazon domains) in order to scrape product data.

6. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer your data to any third party for any purpose.

The only external service the extension communicates with is your own Shopify store, using the Shopify Admin API endpoint you configure. This communication is initiated by you, using your own credentials, to import products into your own store.

The extension does not communicate with any analytics service, advertising network, or data broker.

7. Data Security

Your Shopify API token is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API, which is sandboxed to this extension only and is not accessible by websites or other extensions.

We strongly recommend that you:

• Use a Shopify API token with only the minimum required permissions (Products: Read and Write).
• Revoke and regenerate your API token if you suspect it has been compromised.
• Remove the extension from Chrome if you no longer use it, which will also clear all locally stored data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
